Milfred Earl Hall
Milfred Earl Hall, 89, of Warrensburg, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2013, at Western Missouri Medical Center.
He was born Jan. 18, 1923, in Agra, Okla., the son of Everett M. and Beulah Mae (Denny) Hall. He graduated from Bakersfield High School class of 1941. While growing up, he loved to play baseball on local teams.
Milfred met Mary Frances Reynolds, who was a sister to Everett Reynolds, a friend he met in the Navy during World War II. When the war ended, Milfred and Mary were married on April 28, 1946, at the Walter Reynolds' family farm north of Warrensburg. During Milfred's naval service, he was a Motor Machinist's Mate First Class with PT Boat Squadron Ron 37, assigned to the Pacific Fleet.
After living and working in Kansas City for two years, Milfred and Mary moved back to Warrensburg and worked together for 38 years running their own business. They were co-owners of Hall Industries, which included coin laundries and a car wash in Knob Noster, Warrensburg and Holden. Milfred was a member of the First Christian Church in Warrensburg. He was also a member and former Exalted Ruler of the Warrensburg Elks Lodge 673, a lifetime member of the American Legion Post 131, and a member of VFW Post 2513.
Milfred loved to have fun. He and Mary had a vacation home at the Lake of the Ozarks for many years. After retiring, they traveled throughout the country in their motor home, often with the Truman Lake Ramblers Camping Club. Milfred also enjoyed fishing, hunting, reading, gardening and making things with his hands. He was the "Mr. Fix-It" of the family and shared his delicious tomatoes with many friends. He loved baseball and never missed a chance to watch the Royals play. Milfred was truly a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, friend and neighbor. He impacted the lives of many. We will miss and love him forever and ever.
Milfred is survived by one son, Roger Hall and wife, Linda, of St. Peters; one daughter, Sheila Vallee and husband, Wayne, of Lenexa, Kan.; one brother, Harvey Hall of Grove, Okla.; one sister, Vera May Rinehart of Seneca; five grandchildren, Lela and Sara Hall and Jonathan, Laura and David Biggs; and two stepgrandchildren, Jillian and Christopher Vallee.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary Frances; four brothers, Bud, Joe, Glen and Rex Hall; and one infant sister.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 12, at the First Christian Church of Warrensburg with Pastor Jerry Basye officiating. Pallbearers will be Lela Hall, Sara Hall, Jonathan Biggs, Laura Biggs, David Biggs, Craig Salitros and Dirk Henke.
Interment will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11, at Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home in Warrensburg.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the First Christian Church of Warrensburg and can be left at the funeral home.

Mary Frances Hall, 85, of Warrensburg, passed away Sunday, Oct. 10, 2010 at the Western Missouri Medical Center. Mary Frances was born on Dec. 3, 1924 in LaMonte, Mo., the daughter of Walter and Lela (Lipscomb) Reynolds. She graduated from Warrensburg College High and attended Central Missouri Teachers College. Mary Frances and Milfred met through Mary's brother Everett, who was a Navy friend of Milfred's during World War II. When the war ended they were married on April 28, 1946 at the Walter Reynolds family farm north of Warrensburg. After living and working in Kansas City for two years, they moved back to Warrensburg and worked together for 38 years running their own business. The final business was Hall Industries, which operated 24 years with Mary Frances serving as Vice-president and Treasurer. Mary Frances loved her family and her home. Her grandchildren always looked forward to her homemade pies and chocolate chip cookies. She made holiday gatherings very special, preparing each person's favorite dishes. Mary Frances provided a beautiful and loving home. She loved her flower gardens and rose bushes. She loved her church dearly and served many roles throughout the years, including Sunday school teacher, deaconess, and a variety of other church committees. She belonged to the Christian Women's Fellowship Organization. In addition, she served her community by helping at the Johnson County Memorial Hospital gift shop. Mary Frances loved to have fun. She and Milfred had a lake home for many years. After retiring, they traveled throughout the country in their motor home, often with the Truman Lake Ramblers Camping Club. In addition, she was a member of the Loyal Neighbors Club. Mary Frances was truly a good wife, mother, grandmother, friend and neighbor. She impacted the lives of many with her bright spirit and beautiful smile. We will miss her and love her forever and ever. She was preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, Marion Reynolds.
She is survived by her husband of the home; son, Roger Hall and wife Linda(Allen) of Saint Peters, Mo.; daughter, Sheila Vallee and husband Wayne of Lenexa, Kan.,; brother, Everett Reynolds of Warrensburg and five grandchildren; Lela Hall, Sara Hall, Jonathan Biggs, Laura Biggs, and David Biggs.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Oct. 13, 2010 at 10 a.m. at the First Christian Church of Warrensburg with Pastor Jerry Basye officiating. Burial will be in the Sunset Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Gary Reynolds, Lela Hall, Sara Hall, Jonathan Biggs, Laura Biggs, and David Biggs. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 12, 2010 at Sweeney-Phillips and Holdren Funeral Home in Warrensburg.
