June 15, 2015 Hi!!! My name is Crissy We received the worst possible news yesterday..we were told to bring dad home for his final days... He is resting comfortably and has his family surrounding him. He did not have life insurance so I have changed this page to a memorial fund page to assist with funeral costs. 2014-----Crissy and I have created this page to help raise funds for my dad Phil. We are raising these funds for a few reasons, which I will explain a bit later in my story.
My dad was dignosed on Oct 31, 2014 with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. He was in the hospital for 25 days undergoing chemo. He was released on Nov 25th and returned Dec 8th for another round of chemo which was a week long. This has been a trying journey but we are staying positive. He was referred to KU med to discuss a bone marrow transplant and his doctor's and their staff have been working vigorously on to find a donor and get everything prepared and in line. Yesterday we found out that the leukemia has returned so he will have to under another session of chemo prior to the bone marrow transplant. Once he is able to have the transplant he will have to stay in the hospital for 30 days and then remain in the KC metro area for daily clinic visits for the next 70 days. So this leads me to why I created this account! As you can imagine the medical costs that comes with this type of service and treatment! My parents are not extravagant people and have worked hard for everything they have. The funds raised will go towards helping with medical costs, transportation cost, living expenses ( which my parents would never ask for as they have worked hard all their lives to provide for my sister and I and now of course to spoil their grandkids) and I have also registered to walk in the KC Leukemia & Lymphoma Light the Night walk Sept 18th in honor of my dad so I would like to be able to purchase t-shirts to wear to this event , a banner, and also donate funds to the LLS to help aid in research to have a cancer free world. Thank you for taking the time to read our story
