1880s - 1930s Unidentified Persons in Photographs of Photographs found in the Simmons Studio Collection

Simmons Studio was located on the top floor at 209 N. Holden during the 1940s and early 1950s. Some customers brought old pictures to be rephotographed. 

When the business closed, the owner left negatives of these old pictures behind. Most of them are unidentified.

Seventy years after they were abandoned, the building’s current owner, Ben Pierce, found the negatives and donated them to the Historical Society. We have begun the process of turning these negatives into positives and publishing them online.
