Fall River, Massachusetts  Friday, June 03, 1864

Execution of  One of Quantrel's Men— At Warrensburg, Mo., on the 29th instant at four o'clock Wiliam Francis Hadley alias Joseph Anderson was shot to death with musketry in accordance with the provisions of Special Orders No 109 issued at Warrensburg Gen Brown had obtained sufficient evidence to satisfy him that Hadley was a desperate bushwhacker and had participated in the Lawrence massacre under QuantreL The order for the shooting of the ret el was carried out under the direction of Lieutenant Colonel T Switzler Provost Marshal of the Central District of Missouri
