Congratulations, Charlie on a great career. Those of us who recall you from tennis during the 1970s on the Warrensburg courts knew you were destined to be successful. In my eighth decade now as I write about my service at Whiteman AFB and the wonderful tennis memories from Warrensburg to Sedalia, I remember two lopsided losses but I mostly recollect you playing and winning singles, doubles, and mixed on those Fri-Sun events finishing up near 10 pm on a truly impossibly lit court. You had some very good competition and I'm sorry my game didn't measure up. In my 60 plus years of playing and holding tourneys on Army and Air Force bases from the U.S. to Guam, you were the best I ever saw.

Cheers,
