Clinton Daily Democrat, Jan 9 2002 - Donald Ray Tate was born November 2, 1954, at Warrensburg, Missouri son of Eugene P. and Ruth Hoover Tate. He died December 17, 2001, at his home. He had lived the last three years in Chilhowee. He was a member of the Chilhowee Baptist Church and the Chilhowee volunteer Fire Department. He worked for the Clinton Housing Authority. Survivors include his wife, Janet, of the home; his parents, Eugene P. and Ruth Tate, Warrensburg; one son, Lynn Tate, Warrensburg; three daughters, Sonya Severini, Osceola, Nanette Knowles, Tricity Dehn, both of Clinton; one stepson, Derek Thornley, of the home; four stepdaughters, Tar Thornley, Holden, Tiffany Thornley, of the home, and Audra and Davida, both of Warrensburg; two brothers, David Tate, Warrensburg, and Henry Tate, Chilhowee; three sisters, Ina Miller, Springfield, Evelyn Roderick, Tina Saenz, both of Warrensburg; 13 grandchildren and five step-grandchildren. Funeral services were held December 19 at the Consalus Chapel-Chilhowee. Burial was in Chilhowee Cemetery. David was a favorite classmate of our WHS Class of 73.
