Dorothy Coker, has Passed Away Mother to Howard and Alan


Dorothy H. Coker, 86, Warrensburg, Missouri passed away Monday, Nov. 21, 2011, at Warrensburg Manor Care Center.
She was born March 16, 1925, in St. Louis, Mo., the daughter of William E. and Grace E. (Burris) Dry.  On Dec. 4, 1949, she was united in marriage to Howard H. Coker Sr., in Osceola, Ark. He preceded her in death on April 29, 1988.
Mrs. Coker was a homemaker and worked outside the home within several working fields. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, baking, gardening, her dogs, and country music.
Dorothy is survived by one daughter, Janet Todd and husband, Charles, of Leeton; four sons, Alan Coker of Warrensburg, Howard Coker Jr. of Windsor, Gerald Haggard of Bowling Green, Mo., and Charles William Hendrickson and wife, Londa Jean, of Mount Vernon, Texas; 14 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; one son, Ralph Haggard on March 13, 2007; one sister, Mildred Dry Usher; and one great-granddaughter, Shauna Nicole Todd.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, Nov. 28, 2011, at Sweeney-Phillips & Holdren Funeral Home in Warrensburg with Dr. Ed Harris officiating. Entombment will follow at Warrensburg Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Pallbearers will be Dennis Todd, Jeff Martin, Josh Foulk, Owen Mudd, Terry Elwell, and Elmer Warren.
The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time Monday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Diabetes Association and can be left at the funeral home. The class of 73 offers its condolences to the Coker family and friends on the passing of Dorothy.
