Alice Jennings
Alice was born May 3, 1931, in rural Johnson County, Mo., to Roy H. and Bettie (Claunch) White.
She graduated from Centerview High School and attended Central Missouri State College. Alice taught at the Adam’s School and later was a volunteer for the Warrensburg elementary school libraries.
As a life-long resident of the Warrensburg community, Alice took pride in being a homemaker. She was a 4-H leader, active PTA member and room mother. She was an avid supporter and regular spectator of sporting events and school activities for her children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Alice devoted many hours caring for her children and the children of friends.
Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Jack, of 59 years and grandson, Eric Jennings. She is survived by her four children: Deborah Turnbow and husband Herb; Bettie Rusher; Larry Jennings and wife Sharon, all of Warrensburg; and Jerry Jennings and wife Rita of Sturgeon, Mo. Seven grandchildren: Tim Turnbow, Katie Turnbow, Amanda McSwain, Lisa Jennings, Charlie Rusher, Ken Jennings, and Joe Jennings. Three great-grandchildren: Brandon Marr, Kambrie Jennings, and Ian McSwain.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Monday, March 26, 2012, at Sweeney-Phillips and Holdren Funeral Home in Warrensburg.
Her funeral will be 2 p.m., Tuesday, March 27, 2012, at Sweeney-Phillips and Holdren Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Ken Jennings, Charlie Rusher, Tim Turnbow, Joe Jennings, Bryan Livengood and Justin Patrick. Honorary pallbearers will be Amanda McSwain, Lisa Jennings, Katie Turnbow, Scott Solomon and Ryan Bowie.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Warrensburg R-VI School District Foundation for library materials.
