11881 July 4 100 Poisoned by Lemonade at Pertle Springs 8 dead - Probably Not True!,


A Whole boatload of persons out for a picnic on July 5, 1881 at Warrensburg, Missouri were poisoned with the acid contained in the lemonade which they drank. Eight of them are dead, and 100 others are in critical condition. 
The vendor of the lemonade has been arrested.

A press report-possibly exaggerated and dated the following day said that eight drinkers of the spurious lemonade had died and a hundred more were in critical condition.)
