Paul Eldon Plattner, age 57, of Leawood, Kansas, passed away at home on Thursday, January 14, 2010. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, January 16, 3:00 p.m., at McGilley State Line Chapel, 12301 State Line Road, Kansas City, MO. Visitation will be held Saturday from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m., prior to the service. Private burial. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wayside Waifs, Inc., PO Box 9791, Kansas City, MO 64134. Paul was born November 6, 1952, in Warrensburg, Missouri. He graduated from Warrensburg High School and attended UMKC. He married Barbara Joe Vacek on August 4, 1973, in Warrensburg. Paul worked at the Plaza Dental Lab, then worked for Dr. Dan Cruz, and for the last ten years was co-owner of Broadway Dental Lab. Paul and Barbara had two children, Elizabeth and Allison. Paul's greatest treasures in life included his wife, daughters, and dogs, Jessie and Speckles. If not at home, as long as it was not snowing, Paul could be found on the greens of a golf course. In the fall and winter he enjoyed deer- and pheasant-hunting. Paul is survived by his wife, Barbara Plattner of Leawood, Kansas; daughter Elizabeth and husband, Derek Savage, Olathe, Kansas; daughter Allison and her fiance, David Miles, Olathe, Kansas; parents Vernon & Agnes Plattner, Warrensburg, Missouri; brothers Steve and David Plattner of Warrensburg and Don Plattner of Memphis, Tennessee; and nephew Chris Plattner and family of Blue Springs, Missouri.
