Florence Riddle, Garland Riddle Pass Away Warrensburg, Missouri



Florence Riddle, 90 of Warrensburg, Missouri died Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at her home, surrounded by her loving family.
Funeral Service will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 2 at Williams Funeral Chapel in Warrensburg with Rev. Louie Lowe of First United Methodist Church officiating.
Interment will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery in Warrensburg.
Pallbearers will be Chance Riddle, Josh Cavanaugh, Jay Smith, Corey Cavanaugh, Matt Smith, William Parsons, Jett Brandes and J. C. Riddle.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m, Thursday, at the funeral home.
Florence was born April 28, 1927, in Delhi, New York, daughter of Ralph T. and Vida H. Hotchkiss Burk. At the age of twelve, she moved with her family to Calhoun. She graduated from College High School in Warrensburg. Florence was united in marriage to Garland W. Riddle on April 20, 1947, in Warrensburg. She worked on the farm all of her adult life. Her interests included most anything involving the outdoors. Florence was a member of Houts Chapel Methodist Church and later, First United Methodist Church.
Survivors include four children: Ron and Debbie Riddle of Warrensburg; Jan and Dan Smith of Milton, FL; Beth and Kevin Cavanaugh of Littleton, CO; and Lance Riddle and Renee Brandes of Warrensburg; sister: Pearl Warnken of Warrensburg; 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Garland in 2010 and her brother, Everett Burk.

Sunday March 14, 2010 at the Warrensburg Veterans Home surrounded by his family.
Garland William Riddles was born July 7, 1921, in Chilhowee, Mo., to Myron W. and Violet V. (Kline) Riddle. He grew up on the family farm south of Warrensburg and graduated from College High School. He enlisted in the United States Navy August 25, 1942. He was trained as a machinist mate and worked on aircraft. Garland was honorably discharged Feb. 6, 1946. He returned to Warrensburg and married Florence Burk April 20, 1947. He farmed fulltime, raising cattle and crops. He also worked at Lake City Ammunition Plant, as a carpenter, and at the Physical Plant at CMSU until he retired. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He enjoyed vegetable gardening and fishing.

Survivors include his wife, Florence of the home; four children: Ron Riddle and Jan Smith, both of Warrensburg; Beth Cavanaugh of Littleton, Colo., and Lance Riddle, also of Warrensburg; eight grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his brother, Lyle.
His funeral was held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 17, 2010, at Williams Funeral Chapel in Warrensburg. 
Interment followed in Sunset Hill Cemetery, with military honors by Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post #2513 and American Legion, Post #131. Pallbearers were Matt Smith, Jason Smith, Josh Cavanaugh, Corey Cavanaugh, William Parsons and J. C. Riddle.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the Warrensburg Veterans Home in care of the funeral home.
